We care about trees

The world is facing severe challenges. Billions of people around the world are suffering the consequences of the climate emergency, and food and water insecurity. Ecosystems are an indispensable allies as we meet these challenges. Protecting them and managing their resources in a sustainable manner is essential.

Who We are

FKLM Foundation Africa presents the case for why we all must throw our weight behind a global restoration effort. We provide a unique opportunity to transform food, fibre and feed production systems to meet the needs of the 21st century, and to eradicate poverty, hunger and malnutrition.

This we seek to achieve through effective and innovative landscapes and seascapes management that prevents and halts degradation and restores degraded ecosystems.

The restoration of forest landscapes, farming, livestock and fish-producing ecosystems should primarily contribute to restoring them to a healthy and stable state, so that they are able to provide ecosystems services and support human needs for sustainable production and livelihoods.

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to implement a sustainable, community- participatory afforestation project (planting trees, extension activities, and others) in the continuously degraded forest lands by preventing further degradation of the forest lands, revitalizing the degraded forest lands, promoting conservation of the region’s biodiversity, and improving forest productivity, and thereby contributing to improving the region’s environment as well as reducing poverty.

Our values

A simple, innovative and sustainable approach to tree planting that is easy to adopt and replicate the world over.

Why trees?

We are committed to protecting the planet from climate change by supporting our tree planting and transformation program in the next years. By connecting the long-term vision of a healthy planet, we believe we can create programs that support people in creating healthier environments for themselves and their families.

Our mission

To grow 10 million trees in the next 5 years and transform our peoples livelihoods through better climate and predictable weather patterns that will impact food security and general quality of life.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.The second best time is now.
